THERE ARE MANY FACTORS TO CONSIDER, BUT NOT KNOWING THE TRADE
AREA BEING CONSIDERED, NOR THE COST OF LABOR, MATERIALS, SHIPPING, INSURANCE, FUEL, ETC, ETC IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO PROJECT QUALIFIED FINAL COST, SO FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROFORMA, THE COST, INCOME, GROSS PROFIT IS BASED ON AVERAGES PROVIDE FROM OUTSIDE SOURCES.  IT IS SUGGESTED THAT ANY OPERATOR INTERESTED, STUDY THIS INFORMATION AND PLUG THEIR OWN NUMBERS INTO THE PROFORMA, FOR THEIR STUDY.

KETTLECORN IS A NATURAL FOR FUNDRAISERS.

2) IT IS ASSUMED THAT THE OPERATOR WILL PROVIDE THE LABOR NECESSARY TO OPERATE AS SHOWN (NO OUTSIDE LABOR IS CALCULATED).
3) THE PLAN IS:
A) THE OPERATOR OBTAINS ABOUT 30-40 C-STORES AS RETAIL OUTLETS.  EACH C-STORE IS EXPECTED TO SELL JUST 25 BAGS OF KETTLECORN EACH WEEK, (WE THINK THIS IS A LOW PROJECTION TO JUST SELL 750 BAGS PER WEEK). 
   AS A SUGGESTION, STORES NOT MEETING THE GOAL SHOULD BE REPLACED WITH MORE ACTIVE LOCATIONS.
B) THE PROJECTION IS TO ESTABLISH THE RETAIL @ $4.49 PER BAG.
C) THE WHOLESALE PROJECTION IS TO SELL---------@ $3.50 PER BAG.
D) THE OPERATOR IS TO PROVIDE THE KETTLECORN PRODUCT AS FOLLOWS:
30 STORES X 25 BAGS EACH = 750 BAGS EACH WEEK BEING SOLD.
   NOTE TO REACH THIS GOAL, IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO OVER STOCK SOME LOCATIONS.
E) AT WHOLESALE GROSS INCOME == $2625.00 ESTIMATED EACH WEEK.
F) PROJECTED COST OF PRODUCT == $  937.50 (BASED ON COST OF $1.25 BAG.)
THIS COST PROJECTS: POPCORN, OIL, SUGAR, SALT, MEDIUM SIZE POLY BAG, LG GAS, AND OTHER SUPPLIES FOR A MEDIUM BAG, LABOR BY OPERATOR.
G) PROJECTED GROSS INCOME=====  $1687.50 
    THE USE OF LARGER OR SMALLER BAGS WILL CHANGE THIS PROJECTION.

THERE ARE MANY FACTORS THAT CANNOT BE CALCULATED, THE COST OF DELIVERY, THE COST OF UNSOLD PRODUCT, AND DISPOSIAL (THINK THRIFT STORE/FLEA MARKET/AUCTION FOR FINAL SALE WITH GOAL TO RECOVER PURE COST).  BUT FOR THE SAKE OF THIS STUDY, ESTIMATE DOING DELIVERY OR RESTOCKING OF THE RETAIL STORES ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY CALLING ON 15 STORES A DAY.  WE ESTIMATE THIS COST TO BE $40.00 EACH DAY FUEL AND OTHER COST.  AND WE CHARGE OFF $200.00 FOR UNSOLD/RECOVERED COST.

H) $1687.50 GROSS PROFIT
     $0080.00 DELIVERY EXPENSE TWO DAYS.
     $0200.00 LOSS ON SALES (SPOILED PRODUCT ) SOME OF THIS MAYBE RECOVERED
     $1407.50 READJUSTED GROSS PROFIT.
     $0407.50 ESTIMATED DEDUCT FOR OTHER UNNAMED COST SUCH AS  REPAIRS, INSURANCE, UTILITIES, RENT, RECOVER ON COST OF INVESTMENT, ETC, ETC.

 I)  SO THE INCOME IS ROUND DOWN TO $1000.00 (CALLED NET) EACH WEEK.

OF COURSE, THERE ARE MANY FACTORS TO CONSIDER IN THE ABOVE EXAMPLE, AND IN NO CASE IS THIS EXAMPLE ANYTHING OTHER THAN A PROJECTION, WITHOUT SOLID FACTS.  EACH OPERATOR MUST STUDY THE INCOME, THE COST TO OPERATE, AND THE MANY OTHER COST THEY MIGHT EXPERENCE IN RUNNING SUCH AN OPERATION.  

AND, OF COURSE, DEPENDING ON THE WORK HABITS OF THE OPERATOR, THE ROUTE COULD BE LARGER OR SMALLER, AND THERE ARE SATURDAY FAIRS, FESTIVALS, AND OTHER RETAIL EVENTS POSSIBLE TO ADD TO THE GROSS INCOME.  OUR FINDINGS HAVE BEEN THAT IN SOME AREAS, A OPERATOR COULD SELL 400 BAGS @ $5-6.00 EACH, WITH THE SAME COST OF PRODUCT, THEREBY NETTING UP TO $4.00 PER BAG, OR $1500 OR MORE (OR LESS) IN JUST ONE DAY. AS WITH ANY STUDY, EACH OPERATOR MUST USE THIS INFORMATION ONLY AS A GUIDE, AND INSERT THEIR FINDINGS INTO THE FINAL PROJECTION.

NET ON EACH BAG.  MANY GROUPS COULD SELL 500-1000 BAGS, AND REMEMBER THE OPERATOR ONLY COOKS TO ORDERS, SO ALMOST NO WASTE OR LOSS.  THE MONEY IS COLLECTED UP FRONT, SO THE PROFIT CAN BE CALCULATED IN ADVANCE.  DON'T OVERLOOK FUND RAISERS.......A REAL MONEY MAKER.
